Russell makes positive gains at Phillip Island.
Aaren Russell driving the 4 car continued to improve throughout Races 6 & 7 at Phillip Island as the team grows confident in the direction of the car set up. He is in a race of his own to get familiar with the car, the team and the tracks.
“This was another tough weekend learning a track I have only ever raced on once in a Formula Vee. I certainly felt better today as I finally got to race other drivers, I feel I learnt a lot that I can take into Perth”.
“I’m starting to understand the new generation V8 Supercar and with the team we are moving forward throughout the weekend. I’m really looking forward to getting to some tracks that I have driven in the development series car later in the year.”
Team mate David Reynolds finished maintains 14th overall in the championship, just 33 points shy of the top 10, as was pleased with the team’s efforts to improve the car during the Phillip Island weekend.
“We made some real gains here compared to Tasmania and we have a foundation we can improve on ahead of Perth”.
General Manager Barry Ryan appreciates everyone’s efforts but knows there is a lot of work ahead for the team to be competing further up the field.
“Overall this weekend was an improvement but we have a lot of work ahead of us. The best thing we can take from the weekend is we have found a base we can build on”.
The team next competes in Perth from the 6th to the 8th May.
